Dear Elmorelab community,
It is increasingly clear to me that a lot of people cannot handle the freedom clicker gives. Though I want people to stay in game, and I do not wish to be the one reporting them for AFK, I believe that Captcha, like the one on Reborn would solve a lot of problems, both with botters and the increased numbers of AFK clickers that roam Elmorelab.
A lot of people I've talked to don't like the constant AFK'ing of some people. And a lot of people don't think it's a problem.
I do not like clicker and especially AFK clicking for varies reasons:
1) Knowing and playing your class:
People do not know or play their classes: Why is this a problem? First of all it is EXTREMEly important to play your class, because people's lives are at stake. Tanks that don't agro mobs coz they are AFK let their "active" healers and buffers die all the time all day long. BDs and SWS will try to remedy the situation, but ultimately they are not tanks and spending MP on saving party members mean they can't do the job they are supposed to. Party members don't see or even try to help with unforseen things. Not that seeing half a party getting stuck in a wall isn't funny!
2) XP
I fear that there will be an a team a) and team b) on Elmore. People who all the time just bench series on Netflix while their characters run for 15 hours straight with no strain at all. I can do 20 hours sure, once or twice I guess, but at great cost on my health and family. Whilst other's just go AFK, leveling both faster and more effortlessly than others.
3) Community
How does all this clicking affect the community. Well lots of time there's hardly any communication in parties apart from "Who is MA"? And a worrisome rumors about this being the legit botting server.
Personally I look to the future of the server and see the many new XP spots in store for us where clicking is NOT as accessible as others. Meaning a lot will quit coz they spent a year xping without really playing the game. Now the actually have to put in the work.
My suggestion:
As a start, I would love to get rid of the botters and make people play, make people at the computer. AFK clicking sucks for us all in the long run and makes Elmore a really hollow server to play at times. The only way for this to truly happen efficiently I believe is with a Captcha system. This will also free up some time for the GMs to continue the amazing work they are doing in improving the server and promoting it. Also Captcha wouldn't really affect Clicker would it? I mean AFK clicker is already illegal, so it would just make it easier to stop those that do. Also why play a hardcore 1x server in the first place, if you don't plan on actually xping.
