Question regarding tanks

Is there any clan or CP or any group whatsoever who is using tank in main party setup? If yes why?
I recently tried very hard to find reason to keep playing on tank, but after Lv50 I realized..
In party matching, for AOE is needed a SWS and for RB is needed a BD.
That's OK because I am in a group, but a new problem rises..
I have nothing to offer to my party, nothing to offer to my clan.
Why I made the tank? For the nostalgia, I thought, how bad can it be. Apparently my memory of older chronicles was very rusty.
I probably already know the answer.


What I don't understand what was the reasoning behind the korean masterminds that made the game, when they created the tank classes.

Any thoughts?
Are there main tanks here reading this? If yes what's your opinion ?

Tanks are now a useless piece of shit. And they will remain so for a long time. If you truly love this class, you will find a way. Just look at the experience statistics on the website by class. If you want to play seriously (big war), then of course tanks have no place there. ...unless you are the head of the CP of 20 people.

First sentence is accurate i really like the class, but for me it's important to feel useful. I don't like to be a leech. Literally anything the tank does, a swordsinger or a bladedancer can do better. So I'd rather be useful than be useless. If I wanted to play forever solo and roleplay dog owner with my panther I'd stay in the class.But not.

Same story, man. Im close to fail with my TK on 48 lvl. Maybe ncsoft is just stupid. They added vampiric rage in c2 to kill tanks even more. I think that at some point course of the game went wrong direction. They didn't made content, which cannot be cleared without tanks, and they did not gave them resonable party utility.

Sad, but true.
If agro power works correctly then SwS / BD won't be able to handle RB, since their skill doesn't upgrade. But it is not. And I cannot imagine in any party combination where tank is better then any of 9 chars. Tank doesn't have a role in party play, or I don't know about such role.

Yes. I see in towns human knights and I feel a chill. Elves or dark elves could be bards. But watching 30+ human knights breaks my heart. Hopefully they like the class enough to roleplay in L2. I have had people inviting my tank occasionally in party. But it just felt wrong. I could feel I'm a burden, the class just have nothing to offer. Let's have a moment of silence for our fallen comrades in the tank society.

Actually yea that's a very good explanation. Players give value to the classes, which is also the reasoning behind SE being so high value in the currect state of the game because everyone want to have the less people in party possible to maximize income and efficiency. Therefore SE is the golden class of party matching.

In this case, dis can be compensated by a BIG MASSIVE HUGE online, maximum participation in the life of the clan and a well-played CP. Maybe.
Tanks are theoretically can AOE. And humans have annoying stun. But dude remember, there are also gladiators and tyrants...

I mean, I’m playing tank for almost a year now, and I’ m loving it.

all you’ve mentioned applies to glad, tyrant, spoiler, crafter, summoners but it doesn’t mean that people aren’t enjoying playing these classes.

Since c1 I was playing with my friends and buddies, it wasn’t easy for any class in c1, but connections help.

Mele pack, it’s a rare thing, but will be ok with having a tank, random parties also take tanks (at least SK, and that’s my prof) for hex and other things.

Maybe you are just not enjoying tank as a class, and that is totally fine, 95% of players prefer mage/archer etc.

I’ve known a tank that was always getting ppl for RB, and as a result wasn’t hitting mobs at all in c2, he got to 60+ by farming RB only. And created a RB farming clan being a tank.

4. People would rather have a tank with songs or dances, than a tank without.

Dude trust me tyrant and glad and not strong at PVP ) They become a little less useless in C5.
Btw, in C5 paladin and a little bit other tanks are the best olympiad farmers. Not in C4 ofc =)
SK might be useful in PVE coz every tank have passive MP regeneration + dark elven HEX -23% p. def. Its good for solotarget expin'.

For hex if you have charger possibly BD more efficient though. You are right about tyr and glad aren't so badass in PvP, still better than tanks, that agro doesn't even work in PvP.

Paladins are quite useful class. You can heal newbies in starting zones and popular spots for Recommendation. No other class except mages can do that.

You were comparing Tanks to Spoiler/Crafter class, that shows your IQ pool. Comparing a money-making class, economy forming and entirely different impact of the game, not to mention their spear mastery, and much more. From what it looks like you juts post to post, for message score, if you didn't you wouldn't spam 1 reply after the other from the same message, you'd simply edit or anything. Yeah. Tanks are like spoilers. Your IQ exceeded your level in-game probably.
